Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a women's breasts.  The procedure can be performed for a number of reasons, including enhancing the body contour of a woman who, for person reasons, feels her breast size is too small.  Breast augmentation can also be performed to correct reductions in breast volume after pregnancy, or to balance a difference in breast size.  By inserting an implant behind each breast, Dr. Becker is able to increase a woman's bustline by one or more cup sizes.  Dr. Becker uses either saline or silicone implants.  Currently, about 90 percent of breast augmentation patients at our Bismarck practice are choosing silicone.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Age, pregnancy, and weight loss can all contribute to a sagging of the breasts.  The breast lift procedure is performed to position the breasts higher on the chest and provide an improved shape.  While a mastopexy procedure alone can make sagging breasts perky again, Dr. Becker will help you fully explore your options.  In some cases, the breast lift procedure can be combined with a breast augmentation or a breast reduction procedure for optimum results.

Inverted Nipple Repair

Inverted nipples are a fairly common condition.  They may occur on one or both breasts.  Patients may desire correction for purely cosmetic reasons or other concerns including hygiene.

Non-Cosmetic Breast Procedures

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure which reduces breast size and lifts the breasts.  It is a procedure very frequently covered by insurance.  If you are exploring breast reduction options, our staff will help you fully understand the results you can expect from surgery.  The goal of this procedure is to provide relief of neck, back, and shoulder pain, shoulder grooving, and rashes beneath the breasts.

Breast Reconstruction

Reconstruction of the breast is most commonly performed when a mastectomy becomes necessary to address cancer or extensive fibrocystic disease.  It may also be performed for congenital problems with one or both breasts, or trauma to the breasts.  The two main categories of breast reconstruction are with implant or with the patient's own tissues.  The breast reconstructive may be performed at the time of the mastectomy or anytime thereafter.  Immediate reconstruction will typically provide the most cosmetically pleasing results.  Each of the two main methods of reconstruction has its own set of pros and cons, and a thorough discussion is required to find which option is best for you.  Dr. Becker has advanced training in breast surgery and breast reconstruction.  He is the only surgeon in the region to have this extensive training.
